The Labour Bureau, Govt. of India have released the Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers - CPI(IW) for the month of October, 2013. The index now stands at 241 - a rise by three points over the last month.

With 10 of the 12 index values available, the DA/DR from Jan 2014 will be 100%, that is increase of 10%. Considering the current inflation, populist measures expected as the elections are close, the DA rates can even touch 101%. In case the index rise by three points for the remaining two months or even a two for one month and three for the other, the DA fron January 2014 will be 101%
