CAT Madras bench delivered a land mark judgment on 25^th October 2013 based on Hon’ble High Court of Madras Judgment to absorb Sri.A.V.Damodaran & 87 other RRR candidates within 4 weeks of time. 

Let us hope the Chief PMG Tamil Nadu Circle will implement the Judgment of Madras CAT.

The Workshop on the topic "Staff involvement in Postal Business Development Activities" of NUPE Gr C was held on 21.11.2013 at 1000 Hrs at Madurai HO.
Our Circle Asst Treasurer Shri. P.Kuppusamy Bharathi presided over the function.
Our Circle Secretary Shri.G.P. Muthu Krishnan presented paper on the topic of "Staff involvement in Postal Business Development Activities"and a special address was given by him.
All Divisional Secretaries of Southern Region participated in this function.
After the Lunch, Divisional Secretaries meeting held at the same Venue.
All the divisional secretaries highlighted problems faced by the officials in their division.

Bharat Ratna - Sachin Tendulkar

              

 Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and top scientist CNR Rao will be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's biggest civilian award, the Prime Minister's Office announced minutes after a moist-eyed Sachin retired from international cricket on Saturday afternoon.

"I dedicate this award to my mother," the man called the God of Cricket said. Sachin had made special arrangements to ensure his mother, Rajni Tendulkar, watched his 200th and last Test match against West Indies at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium, which ended today. (Sachin says goodbye with tears)
Sachin, 40, will the youngest recipient of the award. He is also the first sportsperson to be chosen for the honour.

Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao, who serves as the head of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, also joins the select list of India's 41 Bharat Ratnas.
An international authority on solid state and materials chemistry, the 79-year-old scientist has authored about 45 books and 1500 research papers in his career spanning over five decades. He is the third man of science after C V Raman and former President APJ Abdul Kalam to be given the Bharat Ratna.

For Sachin Tendulkar the announcement crowned a prolonged and emotional farewell from a tearful nation of cricket lovers. He finished exactly 24 years of playing Test cricket for India yesterday, ending his last innings with a sublime 74. He holds almost every batting record in the book and is acknowledged by many as the world's best batsman ever.

There have been demands for several years now that India's most prolific batsman be honoured as a Bharat Ratna or India's gem. The award is given in recognition of exceptional service of the highest order. It was instituted in 1954.

The last Bharat Ratna was conferred upon Hindustani music doyen Bhimsen Joshi in 2009.

நமது SPOs அவர்கள் உண்மையிலே நல்ல மனிதர். சிறந்த பண்பாளரும் கூட அவர் அவ்வாறு கூறுவதில் வியப்பில்லை. அதுபோலவே நம்மிடையே பல்வேறு அதிகாரிகள் உள்ளனர் என்றாலும் தவறில்லை.
ஆனால் சில அதிகாரிகளின் நடவடிக்கை நம்மை மன உளைச்சலுக்கு உள்ளாக்குவது வேதனைக்குரியது.
நெல்லையில் சில உதவி கோட்டங்களில் 
ஏன் இன்னும் சில வருடங்களின் ஓய்வு பெறப்போகும் Sub PMs, Postman and GDS படும் அவஸ்தை சொல்ல முடியாது.

The Postmen and GDS Mail Deliverers are either NOT honoured or ill treated and left out in our hurry to close accounts, run clients, send reports and scanning.

please review the role of your Postman and    

GDSMail Deliverers of your office and take them in confidence in all of your activities.

If you co ordinate the activities along with them, definitely each target is achievable.

It is once again requested to each of the PMs/SPMs to convene a MEETING OF ALL

OF DELIVERY STAFF AND YOUR OTHER STAFF every day evening atleast for 15 MINUTES

Sachin Ramesh  Tendulkar and Union Law Minister Kapil Sibal with a stamp released on his name by Department of Posts ahead of his 200th and the last test match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Nov.14, 2013.  

The master blaster is the only Indian living legend after Mother Teresa to receive this honour.

Good Bye - Sachin

New Delhi: Hosts of Sachin Tendulkar's 200th and last Test - Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) - have announced that they will release a commemorative postal stamp with Tendulkar's photo at the presentation before the start of the second Test between India and West Indies on November 14 at the Wankhede Stadium.

"It was decided interalia to come out with commemorative postal stamp with Sachin's photo at the presentation before the start of the match, followed by presentation to be made jointly by BCCI and MCA," the association said in a statement.

Also, the MCA will come out with a 64-page brochure consisting of articles and quotes from personalities belonging to different fields on Tendulkar. Also a special coin will be used for the toss, which will be preserved by MCA.

A Commorative Postage Stamp will be released on 14th November, 2013.

The Holiday on the occasion of Muharram was listed on Thursday the 14th November, 2013 side Annexure I of this Department's O.M. No 12/4/2012-JCA-2 dated 5th June, 2012. This was dependent on sighting of the Moon. It has now been decided that for offices in Delhi / New Delhi, the Holiday on the occasion of Muharram will now be on Friday, the 15th November, 2013 and all Central Government Administrative offices located in Delhi / New Delhi shall remain closed on account of Muharram on 15th November, 2013.

Mobile Money Transfer

DOP Mobile Money Transfer is a service that enables instant money transfer from one place to another place using mobile, through Indian post offices. The consumer just needs to have a mobile while the actual transmission of the money is initiated by the Postoffices, using its special handset. The process for money transfer is very simple to understand and follow. The remitter (sender) can submit money (Cash In) at any of the covered post office and automatically, the amount is transferred to a central position, which can be collected by recipient customer (Cash Out) from any of the covered Post offices. As soon as the Cash in happens, both the sender and the recipient get a SMS on their mobile phones. The sender gets a Transaction ID and a Six (6) digit secret code in the SMS while the Recipient only gets the Transaction ID. Recipient can claim the money from any of the covered Post Offices by showing the Transaction ID that he receives on his mobile in the SMS and the Secret code, which he gets from the sender. In order to make process smooth and convenient, a notification sms is being sent to remitter as well as to recipient regarding transaction irrespective of their telecom operator.

 For this initiative, India's pioneer and largest communication service provider (CSP), BSNL will provide mobile connections to DOP’s designated officials and BSNL will bring Global technology for Mobile Money Transfer. Each Post office shall be provided with a mobile handset with pre loaded application by BSNL’s technology partner M/s Maverick Mobile Solution.

From 15th Nov 2013, the Mobile Money transfer to be launched in Tamilnadu Circle. In Tirunelveli Division, 29 Post offices are identified for this purpose. The Mobile devices are supplied to this POs.

Letter to PMG CR on Mail arrangement.

                Sub: Mail arrangements not suitable to the revised working hours – reconsideration requested.

           My Circle Union wants to bring the following matter to the kind notice of PMG to take favorable decision.

            For  the several months now in Central Region all the Sub Post Offices working hours has been revised uniformly as from 09.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs. But the mail arrangements especially schedule timings were not suitably revised. The mails are  received in Sub Post offices  from morning 06.30 hrs onwards as was  done before the revised arrangements of working hours came in to force.   As the revised uniform working hours has been fixed without suitably altering the mail arrangements, the Sub Postmasters are finding very much difficult in providing the man power for the receipt of mails.

         If the regional administration is very firm to continue the  revised uniform working hours  in days to come, my Circle Union request the PMG sir to kindly asses all the relevant factors including the revised mail schedules as to fall within the revised uniform working hours.
